Well, on this site, on the frontiers of spirituality and science, the answer to whether to blog is a definitive YES!! This will be my first ever blogging experience.
So on my first entry I just want to say how timely, important, and on the forefront I think our community is here. I want to Thank Lynn Mctaggart for being the impetus for creating this site and all who join and connect and further these discussions. At a time when due to the huge advances of technology, the internet, the media, instant satellite communications, and the availability of world travel, parts of our world are intersecting, East meeting West, in terms of politics, religion, spirituality, etc. So it is at this time that a worldwide community such as this is so important to further the understanding and communication that what unites us as a global human community is so much more than what divides us. This is always true, despite appearances to the contrary on the nightly news. It is our thought, influenced by others and generations before us, through no fault of their own, which creates the illusion of separateness and lack of understanding which lead to conflicts in our world.
We don't always realize the power of our minds and collective mind to create our earthly physical reality. We must constantly appreciate this power, which is a creative power given to us by our creator, and nourish it, communicate it, grow it, worldwide. That is why I am so happy to have found this "Living the Field" community which I feel can be a major contributor to this effort.
How amazing is it that seeing the pain being experienced by another human being, even a perfect stranger, maybe half way around the world from me that I'm seeing on the news on TV can make me feel deep feelings of empathy for them. How many of us cried when viewing video of the terrible southeast asian tsunami, or seeing victims of earthquakes, or video of what was happening on 9/11/01? Also when seeing joyous events such as victims being rescued or loved ones being reunited, we share the feeling of joy and perhaps even the tears of joy. What happens when you walk into a room and see people laughing so hard that they are totally out of control, red faced, no way they can control themselves and stop laughing, maybe even rolling around on the floor. Well you probably laugh too a little, or at least smile and feel a little good, even though you didn't hear the joke or see what happened that caused the uncontrollable fits of laughter.
Isn't it amazing that me, a 45 year old white man in the northeastern US, if I passed on and was an organ donor, my heart, or lungs, or liver, or kidneys could give life, LIFE!, to a 17 year old Taiwanese girl on the other side of this earth?
These things are all clues, evidence that we are all connected and unified on a very fundamental energy level. This unites us on a level that dwarfs anything we may ever be fooled into perceiving divides us. That's why I am so glad to be in this community where through discussions we can further our understanding of all this and help communicate it out into the world.
Thank you for reading my first ever blog entry and I very much welcome any and all comments, insights, questions, input etc.
