Living The Field

“Unless one fully experiences one’s humanity, one will have to experience earth again and again. One will have to repeat the lessons offered here upon the earth. It is possible that one need not have to reincarnate. However, many don’t live up to their full potential because they’re afraid of death. I want to emphasize here that only the body dies. People get too attached to their physicality. However, they have to. One’s consciousness of the physical must be fairly strong in order for the soul’s desire to continue. The more we feel our humanity, the more help we can give and the more joy we can create.” Kuan Yin

When one contemplates death, he or she may not associate it with an amazingly simple concept: that in death one merely continues on with whatever dream they're presently dreaming. Death, then, might be defined as the soul simply not returning to ego-consciousness. As explained in a preponderance of "near death experience" accounts, when the physical body dies, what Kuan Yin (in The Living Word of Kuan Yin: Teachings & Prophecies of the Godd...) has termed as one's "Authentic Self" or soul takes over, naturally transitioning into what has been termed the "after life" experience. This transition has commonly been described by those having near death experiences as entering a tunnel and then seeing a radiating beam of light or glowing spiritual entity. In The Living Word of Kuan Yin, Kuan Yin, Buddhist Goddess of Compassion explains that only the physical body dies—that we are eternal beings. What do you think?

hi Rick, i agree with what you are saying. I am only just starting to learn about soul groups. I am at around p. 300 of our friend, Robert Schwartz's book, Courageous Souls: Do We Plan Our Life Challenges Before Birth. According to the channelled information provided, when we are on The Other Side, some of us who are a part of the planning of a life chart of a member of our soul family or soul group (whatever term is more comfortable for you,) one of us may not come down to Earth, but stay where we are, in Spirit while our group leaves. I'm sure we are not alone in the spiritual realm if we don't incarnate at the same time because it isn't our time yet or we may not incarnate again. I have read most of Sylvia Browne's books, saw her in July in her hometown of San Jose for the Spiritual Connections tour, watch her on t.v., and never heard her speak of others helping us in the planning stages of our incarnations, so this is news to me. I guess Robert's book sorta says we incarnate over and over to balance out karma, continue with spiritual growth and the Oversoul contains the soul and all the personalties from the incarnations. I just rec'd 2 books by Dr. Michael Newton on this subject plus what happens between incarnations. Have you read any of his books? I hear he relies on the superconsciousness of the individuals in his case studies, through I believe, hypnotic regressions and progressions, and not through mediums. When reading some of the reviews before I ord'd Dr. Newton's books, I read that if a medium is tired, among other things, the reliability of the info channelled is diminished. I am just relaying what I read over the past few days, along with trying to manage things around this house, as you know. Do you know what happens to us in between incarnations? I don't know what they are talking about....either we are on The Other Side, here on Earth, in utero, or on another planet??? have a great evening. hope to see you soon. love dragonfli xxxoooxxx

Dragonfli, ciao!

I have read one of dr Newton's books, Destiny of Souls. Your understanding of his method, i.e. that it was through hypnotherapy and a deep regression technique, is correct. It is a facinating book, and highly thought provoking; I'm certain you will enjoy it and have much to think about!
Many of the ideas that he postulates pop up in other books. The astrophysicist turned energy healer Barbara Brennan (who wrote the wonderful books on energy healing: Hands of Light, and Light Emerging), channelled similar information, as did (I'm not sure of this name) a medium named Mary Browne who wrote a book on Akashic Records and Karma.
I loved all these books. Even Karma is seen, not as punishment and "you get what you give", but as a choice that our higher selves make, desiring to "make things right". What a wonderful idea! I can't speak for anyone else, but the idea that I choose the key ingredients of my life in order to learn lessons, and that everyone and everything is there for a reason, really inspires me to try and find the lessons in the awful and difficult times, and to reach, always, for my best self. I'm a long, loooonngg way from being who I wish to be, and a bit of inspiration really helps! (Hope I didn't sound preachy, and hope that you find the book as facinating as I did.)

Melanie:

I was so pleased to read your post, particularly the part about Karma where you said...

"Even Karma is seen, not as punishment and "you get what you give", but as a choice that our higher selves make, desiring to "make things right". What a wonderful idea! "

My Spirit has bucked against this idea of Karma as punishment ever since I first heard it stated that way and who knows when that was.....I'm 51 now but I remember my brain just refusing to wrap around that idea. Over the years, I have come to similar awareness on karma as the folks you quoted.

My personal awareness, which may only apply to my life actually since we are all free will agents, is that each life I've lived is complete in itself, like a work of art is complete. Each may have flaws and things that, looking back on it, I might choose to do differently next time.

I don't repaint the canvas. I learn from it, and make choices differently because of the previous paintings yet each stands alone as the very best my soul could create at that time.

Neva,

(Wonderful name, by the way!) I love your analogy to personal artwork, and found myself saying "Absolutely, Yes!". As an amateur artist myself, and as a writer, I always look on every creative attempt as an exercise, an part of my personal learning curve! I have done nothing, Nothing, that could not have been done better if I had known the things that I learned only in the effort of creating that particular work. And yes, that is exactly how I see each incarnation. Even though I may not (for me read "do not") remember previous lives, I am certain I learned something in each of them that allows me to move forward, and I'm grateful for that, feeling certain that with the new knowledge and understanding, I can create something more beautiful, more meaningful, the next time.

I don't know if you read the comment that someone wrote about Karma being (I remember the idea, not all the actual words) an ugly idea, coming from a lack of love. . . . I was taken aback, and frankly horrified! When I look back on my life, there is so much that I wish I had done differently. . . people I wish I had reached out to, people I wish I had steered clear of, and many situations where, even at the time, I know I could have done better. . . . The thought of repainting those canvases, and, in some cases, even doing serious restoration work, looks like a generous gift! How awful it would be if we never had an opportunity to put things right.

Hope I don't sound pedantic, but after reading some of the comments listed on the website, I sat up late, thinking hard. . . . Looking at what other people believed, and clarifying my own thoughts. i confess it is a vast relief to hear from someone who has clearly thought deeply, and searched their soul, before coming up with an opinion! (Of course, it helps to be over 40!)

Thank you for your thoughtful response!

Hi

I've been following your discussion and hope I can give you some more insights about how it works. I am a Regression Therapist trained in Michael Newton's methods (my teacher was taught by him, personally). So not only have I regressed many people under hypnosis, I've also experienced it myself many times and watched Life between Lives regression - Yes you can be taken to the place where your Higher Consciousness is now!

You are right about Karma - it is about learning and the balance comes in the way that you learn all sides of a situation/emotion etc. To fully know beauty you have to know ugliness.

Whatever you have chosen to learn, you will then go on to chose the main players in the story (usually from your soul group, but sometimes from other soul groups that you work with now and again). They may offer to do something purely for your experience, but it may be to help them learn something. If you look at things from this 'soul view' then people who do terrible things may be doing it so that others can receive a different lesson. It may seem strange but look at all the good lessons that were learnt during WWII - heroism, love of family, neighbours etc. strength in adversity, standing up for what you believe in, generosity, fortitude...... conversely lessons of hatred, anger, prejudice weakness, cowardice and to be a fully balanced soul you need to learn both so that you can forgive (in fact often when you get back to the spirit realm you may even be looking forward to meeting the soul that has done most harm to you in this world - especially if they did a good job!)

As well as the main players, you will chose the family who is most likely to give you the background or the lessons you want to learn, and the main points of your life. You often get reminders (or memory) of these points, or people you need to meet, by deja vu or those times when you feel you know someone - go with it, it's in the plan.

And freewill? - well you can chose not to follow your plan, to ignore your intuition - you will get other opportunities to get back on track (spirit guides are there to try to help you learn what you chose to and they will try to nudge you back) or you may end up coming back to try to learn it next time (but you may have learnt something else instead!). It's about learning, feeling, and being aware that you are perfect and divine....amongst other things.

I have searched many old documents and stories about Jesus's life. I found out that he not only believed in reincarnation, but he taught it. It was in the Bible until 500 AD i believe, when the new emperor didnt want it in his state run bible....... then he had the teaching of reincarnation removed. If people just realized that the bible has been altered so many times by so many non christian/non-religious rulers that maybe they would wake up to the fact that the Bible is not the final authority. Thats why the religious leaders say to never read anything but the bible, they are afraid you will learn the truth. Most pastors/preachers,etc were taught the truth in seminary school and are afraid the people will find out. I wanted to find out everything I could about Jesus, and I found out that there are huge amounts of teachings that were removed from the original bible. Jesus taught a lot of things that the modern religions dont want you to know about. Search for yourself.

Catherine,
Didn't you say that last life? ;)
I lost a really close friend, who wrote is own obituary. He very good humourdly thanked all who had been kind and friends to him and said how he looked forward to seeing them again. It was only after I said in conversation to someone "When Waynes body died" that I realized how completely I had accepted reincarnation in my belief system.
Now I think of peoples passing as a time when their body died, it is such a comfort. I accept we are Eternal Spiritual beings having occasional physical experiences, everything makes so much more sense from that perspective...well, to me anyway.
Best regards
George

I found this to be a beautiful post George, thank you. That you have received 'comfort' from your beliefs is a very important thing in life - so many people do not obtain comfort from their spiritual/religious beliefs. They're so afraid of being punished, going to hell, not doing the right thing, sinning etc that they miss the point of what religion is supposed to be about - to provide spiritual nourishment, upliftment and refreshment. If this is what a belief in reincarnation does for you, then I think this is a good thing.

Personally I do not believe in pre-existance or reincarnation, but I do believe that we continue in awareness and growth in the next life. This belief gives me comfort. So isn't it interesting that we can have different beliefs, yet both derive comfort from them?

Each to his own Timbus, but "continuing in awareness and growth in the next life" is by my approximation, pretty close to where I sit.
I actually discovered my belief after giving God a massive serve about a pet cat I had that had died despite my very best efforts to keep him alive. I was furious, told God exactly where He could #$@
and went off to bed in disgust.
When I woke the next morning, it occurred to me that you cant get that angry with anyone you don't believe in, so we both apologised (I said I was sorry and He found me a new ginger kitten that day) and we have been getting on famously ever since. He finds me ginger cats, I get to look after them, and when they're ready He takes them back. Neat. He does lots of other cool stuff for me too.
So there it is, belief, nothing quite like it.
Best wishes,
George

Amen....;+)

Edgar Cayce wrote that if we're going to meditate, to meditate for a reason. So when I began meditating several years ago, I made the purpose of my meditation to know and love God. One day I was inspired to substitute the word Life for the word God in my conversation and prayers. Sometimes when bad things happened we shake our fists and say 'God, how could you do this to me?" When I changed the word God to life - 'Life, how could you do this to me?' -I experienced a profound change. It left me with no one to shake my fist at - I realized that we live in a physical world and in a physcial world, stuff happens, that's just the way it is - and my concept of God changed forever. Then I read The Field.

I'm beginning to get the smallest inkling of how powerful we humans are in creating the circumstances of our lives via our interaction with the Field. It's way cool.

So I'm happy life is giving you ginger cats and lots of other cool stuff too.

Best regards
Lynne

Hi I loved your approach to God.

Hi. I had thought that the people that is afraid of being punished, going to hell etc. Is because they have not ended their experience on those subjects, like in College. And that the way to help, is by not trying to do so, but just being. I feel like we are the neurons that communicate and when one does something many others synchronize.
