I concur with you Rick.
It would be great if we could link to Skype or some other VOIP provider.
I dont know the realities of the bandwidth requirements, but it would be great
if we could converse with each other online, if we wanted.
I heard a radio interview that David Rountree did whilst I was blogging away.
It was great to hear him.
Yeah, great idea.
Maybe our network creators could link into a web radio for the whole of Ning.
Interview people from all the different Ning networks.
I cant help my enthusiasm for this site, its so infectious

Hey, so I have installed skype and got it working, my username is george.le.poi.
I now have to get lotus sametime lite installed. I'm off to TAFE tonight so I wont get back to the computer till about 10.30.pm, my time, or 6 hours after the time of this post.
Hope to hear from someone soon, write me if you want to play. The post before this is about an earlier version of Skype to the one I got so the latest version may have it built in.
Whoopee.
Talk soon

Hi George,

I use skype all the time & have used their normal application for conference calls. You can add in a total of 9 callers for a conference call - which includes chat (typing) & voices all for free as long as the other users are on skype.

This has worked well most of the time, occasionally a bit of a problem with some people getting "dropped off" & having to ring in again.

I haven't looked at the Lotus software so can't comment on that.

Sharon,
As always, thanks for your input.
I don't have a Skype number yet, but I'll put it up when I have.
I seem to have mucked up my login, I am in the process of fixing it. Now all we need is an extra button like the green one that tells you whose online, that lights up when we have voice? Wh could create a discussion or post a list here?
I have started E-Energy is E-Everywhere as a discussion, your input would be appreciated if you have time.
I think I have seen some of Aaron's videos on youtube, I watched his motor, it really spins doesn't it.

George, you only need your username to log in, you don't need to have an actual skype telephone number? if that's what you meant.

When you log in you just click on your status from a range of options eg online, away etc & your skype box is activated. It then shows a list of all the contacts that have accepted you as "allowed" & their status also shows up so you can see who is online at any given time. I suppose it works similar to MSN etc although I haven't used any other chat rooms myself, so am not familiar with them.

The other good feature is that you can also click on each person's individual icon/photo & it will show you the exact time that it is in their time zone (if they have enabled this feature in their options list) so it makes it easier to work out times to connect live.

Love, Light & Blessings,
Sharyn

So I am organised, Skype running, but will have to get used to turning it off and on. My username is george.le.poi. now we have to set up contact details so we can see one another.
there are about 5+million people on this at the moment, it's a whole other dimension. Yet again, wonders will never cease.
